As a Ugandan refugee to Canada, I learned at an early age how to persevere through many challenges and developed a hard work ethic, a story that is familiar to a lot of immigrants working hard to build a better life for themselves and their families.
I am bound to an abiding faith that in Canada any one of us has the possibility of achieving success and deserves a future where we can thrive and fulfill our dreams. A place where we have the right to voice our concerns and trust our representative to work for a greater good for all of us. I promise to be that trusted voice.
I want to unite people by bringing them together on issues that matter the most. Together we can do better and be better. I want to hear what matters to you.
I will fight hard:
1) To better support small businesses and rebuild the economy
2) To remove the stigma around mental health and have a better support of resources that actually work affectively
3) To improve on the affordable housing crisis and work at the grass roots level to find innovative solutions
4) To foster inclusion and diversity in our communities and workplaces, ensuring everyone has equal opportunities
I have a proven record of service to our community and have served as Board Member for Quest Food Exchange, a Greater Vancouver program to help people on low income have access to affordable healthy food. I have also been passionately involved for the last 5 years in fundraising for Ride to Conquer Cancer, a cause that is very close to our family.
My most rewarding experience has been leading a team of 200 volunteers to organize an event for 7000 spectators for the World Partnership Walk, an international initiative that has raised millions of dollars for fighting poverty in Africa and Asia.
As a business owner for over 30 years, I have faced the challenges that you have dealt with in the past and again are having to deal with today in these unprecedented times. I also understand as a business owner you need more resources and support to keep it sustaining. We must improve the economic viability of small businesses. They are the foundation of our economy. You can count on me to be your sounding voice in Parliament because I have walked your path
We must also work hard to better understand mental health and how it is affecting Canadians. We need to advocate for viable options in our healthcare system. We need to work together to remove the stigma and discrimination attached to mental illness. I believe in Erin O’Toole’s plan for securing a Canada Mental Health Action Plan
I believe Canada can be a country we can be proud of. With our richness in ethnicity, we have an opportunity now more than ever to bring forth our spectrum of values and ideas for building stronger, more vibrant, and sustainable communities not only during our lifetime but for future generations.
There is much work to be done to foster real change. Together we can be a part of that change. I am looking forward to talking with voters and hearing their concerns.
“I want to be your powerful voice in Parliament.”
Secure the future, help elect Erin O’Toole’s Conservatives and get Canada’s economy back on track.
